Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione. Shown here are two Pennsylvania Railroad engines: #9405 and #5911. Both are ES-6 switchers built by GM-EMD and rated at 600 horsepower each. #9405 was constructed in September of 1950. #5911 was built as number "3908" in June of 1937, later renumbered "5911," and renumbered "8511" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger; it was one of the PRR's very first diesel purchases. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. |
