| Tipton. Here is an original photo that I took in Tipton, Pennsylvania, on 11 April 1964. Shown here (R to L) is PRR engine #9776 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9776 is an EF-15A built in January of 1951 and retired in September of 1964 after just 13 years of revenue service. In this context, they're pulling a 95-car mixed-cargo freight train from Altoona to Enola along with cabin car #477109. |
